Brewers Spruces - Picea Breweriana

Brewer spruce, also called weeping spruce or Siskiyou spruce, is native to the Siskiyou Mountains of the American Southwestern. Due to its modest height, it grows mainly in the understorey or in harsh niche environments. Like all spruces, it is a member of the pine family (Pinaceae) and, because of its slow growth and attractive, pendulous branches, its uses are more ornamental than commercial. The spruce species first found its way into European gardens via British plant hunters who were looking for exotic species for their plant collections.
