On this page we are trying to keep you up to date with the developments and situation in Baden-Baden. Due to the daily changing situation we ask for your understanding if we are not always able to do so. Additionally, we try to update the information on our website regarding opening times and events step by step.

The current situation in Baden-Baden

What Baden-Baden visitors should know:

Gastronomy

Restaurants, cafés and bars are open  comply with the hygiene regulations and distance rules. Most of them still offer additionally food and beverages for delivery or take away.

Culture

The Casino Baden-Baden is open.

Museums and exhibitions as well as galleries are allowed to reopen.

The Caracalla Spa is open. The Fridrichsbad is closed for construction.

Shopping

All shops are open under consideration of the hygiene regulations and distance rules. No entry without face mask! Please keep the minimum distance of 1.5 m from other people in public spaces.

Public toilets are open.

Our hosts are looking forward to welcoming you to Baden-Baden, always considering the hygiene regulations and distance rules.

Our camper van site at the B500 is allowed to reopen and receive guests as well. Please note that there are only 8 spaces available on our camper van site and that you can not book in advance. First come - first serve!

Parcs and public gardens in Baden-Baden can be visited at any time.

Hier haben wir Ihnen die wichtigsten Fragen rund um das Thema Covid-19 zusammengestellt.

Risikogebiet innerhalb Deutschlands:

Das Beherbergungsverbot in Baden-Württemberg wurde widerrufen. Das bedeutet: Selbst, wenn sich Ihr Wohnsitz in einem Risikogebiet innerhalb Deutschlands befindet oder Sie sich kurz vor Ihrer Anreise in einem Risikogebiet aufgehalten haben, dürfen Sie nach Baden-Baden reisen und in einem Beherbergungsbetrieb aufgenommen werden.

Zu Ihrem eigenen Schutz und zu dem Ihrer Mitmenschen empfehlen wir Ihnen, Ihre Reise abzusagen, sollten Sie coronatypische Symptome wie Fieber, Husten, Verlust des Geschmacks- oder Geruchssinns oder Atembeschwerden aufweisen.

Risikogebiet im Ausland:

Ob Sie sich in einem Risikogebiet aufgehalten haben, können Sie dieser Liste des RKI entnehmen. Zu den Risikogebieten gehören viele Länder außerhalb Europas.

Sie reisen aus einem Risikogebiet nach Deutschland ein? Dann müssen Sie einen negativen Corona-Test vorlegen oder sich direkt nach Ankunft nach Hause - oder an Ihren Zielort - begeben und zwei Wochen lang isolieren (häusliche Quarantäne). Und Sie müssen sich sofort bei Ihrem zuständigen Gesundheitsamt melden. Das Corona-Testergebnis darf höchstens 48 Stunden alt sein.

Sie können den Test in vielen Ländern vor Ihrer Abreise Richtung Deutschland machen oder Sie lassen sich nach der Einreise in Deutschland testen. Der Test in Deutschland ist für Sie kostenlos. An vielen Flughäfen in Deutschland gibt es bereits Testmöglichkeiten. Ist der Test positiv, ist in jedem Fall eine zweiwöchige Quarantäne notwendig. Wichtig ist: Bis das Testergebnis vorliegt, müssen Sie sich an die Quarantäneregeln halten.

All shops are allowed to reopen under consideration of the hygiene regulations and distance rules. Please keep the minimum distance of 1.5 meters from other people. Thank you. 

Since May 18, 2020 restaurants and cafés including ice cream parlors are allowed to reopen provided they comply with the hygiene regulations and distance rules. Most of them still offer additionally food and beverages for delivery or take away.

We recommend to contact the respective restaurant directly.

Since June 2, 2020 smaller bars and pubs are allowed to reopen as well provided they comply with the hygiene regulations and distance rules. 

Since May 29, 2020 hotels and other accommodation facilities like holiday apartments are allowed to offer overnight stays for touristic reasons. Please contact the respective facility directly for detailed information. 

Our camper van site at the B500 is allowed to reopen and receive guests as well. Please note that there are only 8 spaces available on our camper van site and that you can not book in advance. First come - first serve!

The youth hostel remains closed until further notice.

  • Events and other gatherings with more than 500 participants are prohibited until August 31, 2020.
  • Non-private events are allowed as long as there are fixed seats and less than 100 participants. [...] Cinemas and other cultural institutions are allowed to reopen provided they comply with the rules mentioned before. Please note that the cinemas in Baden-Baden remain closed until further notice.
  • From June 9, 2020 private events with less than 100 participants are allowed to take place in rentable public rooms like restaurants and other venues. This includes events like birthday parties, weddings or baptisms.

Please contact the respective organizer directly for further information on your event. For the return or exchange of already booked tickets, please contact the organizer or the sales point you went to. 

The Festival Hall Baden-Baden cancelled the whole program of season 2019/2020. Neither the Whitsun Festival 2020 nor the Summer Festival 2020 at the Festival Hall will take place. For further information please click here.

The public guided tours organized by the Baden-Baden Tourism Board (Baden-Baden Kur & Tourismus GmbH) will take place from July 3, 2020.

  • The public guided tours in English take place every Friday at 2 pm.
  • The public guided tours in Spanish take place every Friday at 4 pm.

The guided walks only take place if there is a minimum of 2 people. For safety reasons there is a maximum of 8 participants. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Sunday - Thursday: 12 pm - 2 am
  • Friday - Saturday: 12 pm - 3 am

Classic game:

  • Sunday - Thursday: 5 pm - 1 am
  • Friday - Saturday: 5 pm - 2 am

Guided tours

From June 15, 2020 the Casino Baden-Baden will offer guided tours through the historic rooms considering the legal hygiene regulations.
The tours take place every hour from 10 am to 2 pm. The number of participants is limited to max. 9 people. Please note that the tours are in German only.

There are no exclusive tours until further notice. Thank your for your understanding.

The Caracalla Spa reopens from June 6, 2020 - this includes its restaurant and shop as well as the CaraVitalis Wellness & Beauty center. 

The Roman-Irish Bath Friedrichsbad remains closed until further notice. 

Our Tourist Information office in the Kurhaus Colonnades is open - daily from 11 am to 5 pm.

The safety of our employees and our guests has top priority, so please take care and follow the following rules:

  1. Guests are required to wear a face mask.
  2. The minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be kept from other persons.
  3. Disinfection of the hands in the entrance area: Disinfection dispensers are available.
  4. Maximal 2 guests allowed.

The Tourist Information office in the Schwarzwaldstraße 52 is open from Monday to Friday from 9 to 10 am. Afterwards, you can reach us everyday from 9 am to 5 pm by phone and e-mail:

  • Avoid crowds in public spaces.
  • Cough and sneeze in a tissue or in the crook of your arm.
  • Keep your distance - even when standing in line. 
  • No handshakes.
  • Only go see a doctor or emergency ward after making an appointment by phone. 
  • Stay at home with fever and cough and other cold symptoms.
  • Use a face mask in public transports and stores.
  • Wash your hands long and thoroughly.
  • The stay in public space is only permitted on your own or with the members of your own household or with the members of another household until June 14, 2020. Wherever possible, a minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be kept from other persons in public spaces.
  • Gatherings in private rooms are allowed with a total amount of max. 10 people from several households excluding family (parents and grandparents, children and grandchildren, siblings and their descendants) as well as members of the own household and their partners. 
  • Public events and gatherings are allowed as long as there are fixed seats and less than 100 participants.
