Baden-Baden is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Great Spa Towns of Europe: On 24 July 2021, the International World Heritage Committee inscribed Baden-Baden on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Great Spa Towns of Europe. On this themed tour you will learn interesting facts about Baden-Baden's rich cultural history. Its heyday as the "summer capital of Europe" in the 19th century is still reflected in the cityscape today. During this time, Baden-Baden was one of the world's leading European spa towns. This was reflected, among other things, in its specific urban development, which can still be experienced today as a special type of city.

The term Great Spas of Europe refers to spa towns that achieved international importance from the late 18th century to the early 20th century. Their spa tradition and urban layout are considered representative of the phenomenon of the European spa town, and their structure and historic substance have been preserved unbroken to this day. Inscription on the World Heritage List is the highest international recognition for global cultural and natural heritage sites.
