With "art meets city," the Kurgarten is transformed into an open gallery. Tobias Rehberger has developed an art trail called "Ui.Ja" featuring just over a dozen works. The trail guides visitors from the beginning of the bridge right up to the front of the Kurhaus—set right between the colonnades, the Trinkhalle, and bustling summer city life.

Tip: The tour is particularly beautiful in the evening, when the light, architecture, and art all intertwine. If you want to dive deeper, you can book a curator-guided tour through the Baden-Baden Tourist Information office.

At Galerie Bell, visitors encounter Gunter Sachs as a photographer with a sharp eye for style, light, and composition. His works feel like an evening on the French Riviera: effortless, elegant, and full of attitude – while telling the story of an aesthetic that goes far beyond the classic jet-set cliché.

Tip: If you want to pair art with fine dining, choose the Private Art Dinner right in the middle of the exhibition. New York in black and white, Porsche as an icon, and, in between, a captivating play of light, shadow, and movement. At the Porsche Studio Baden-Baden, Udo Spreitzenbarth showcases new, previously unpublished works where photography, design, and urban lifestyle merge into a powerful visual narrative.

The exhibition is compact, atmospheric, and easy to reach, making it the perfect addition to a summer day of art spent between the Kurgarten, the Museum Mile, and the city center.

Flowers are never just decoration – they speak of love, memory, power, and identity. The new exhibition Bloom up! The Language of Flowers at the Staatliche Kunsthalle combines cultural-historical treasures with contemporary art. From ancient Egyptian lotus flowers and Art Nouveau roses to digital floral fantasies, the gallery creates a journey filled with fragrance, beauty, and transience.

A face that doesn't look away. In the newly founded art space STUDIOMERCUR668, the portrait becomes a stage for identity, self-expression, and the question of how we present, shape, and perceive ourselves today.

Set in the salon-style rooms of a historic early 19th-century townhouse, the exhibition creates a direct, face-to-face encounter. Contemporary perspectives, near-life-sized portraits, and the unique atmosphere of the venue come together to create an art experience that feels personal, contemporary, and surprisingly intimate.

Four museums, one big celebration: On July 19, 2026, the Museum Frieder Burda, the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, the Museum LA8, and the Stadtmuseum (City Museum) will open their doors. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can enjoy free admission, complimentary mini-guided tours, live music, workshops, artist talks, and culinary highlights.

Tip: The day is also highly recommended for families. Children can join in on a mystery scavenger hunt, while right next door in the Kurgarten, the open-air exhibition "art meets city" gets underway.

Color that unfolds, creases, and creates entirely new dimensions. At the Museum Frieder Burda, "The Unfolding of Color" showcases Simon Hantaï's painting as a sensory experience oscillating between chance, deliberate choice, and immense gestural power.

Around 40 key works spanning four decades offer a deep dive into his famous folding technique and his profound contribution to post-war abstraction. The exhibition marks a spectacular finale to the Summer of Art—and extends well into the winter months.
